Why can't my freeview tele pick up these channels?
I have just bought a new television (Alba 19" from Argos) with freeview built in. I have set it up and I have all the channels except sky sports news which i watch on another television and sky news. I have checked the freeview website and it says it is available for me to get but on guide it is not there can anyone help me on how to tune that one channel in and how to find it. Thanks in advance.

Remote control - menu - channel scan - UHF only - it should now be showing your signal strength - and signal intensity bars - now select channel mode either auto/manual scan.
The whole channel selection scan will depend on the strength of the signal your receiving - weak signals may not be found straight away and you may need to keep doing a 're-scan' until you find them - different times of day offer better signals sometimes - this has happened to me in the past.
Sky Sports is channel 83. Sky news is 82. on freeview.!! Just a thought - your not using a 'mobile room aerial' on the TV are you - as that won't pick up the SKY signal at all - it is a 'full roof/attic aerial' - right.!!
After these suggestions I'm stumped as to what to suggest next - keep playing around with the remote channel finder in the hope it will 'click onto' the channels you want. If your getting the other freeview channels its not a fault with the freeview box - it can only be the weak signal strength from SKY thats giving you this hassle.
If your still in trouble after the weekend - take the set back to Argos for an exchange TV - there good people to deal with - and just say the freeview is not working properly and they will exchange it for you - and then you will know when you do the set-up this time - thats its not the TV set freeview at fault.
Keep in touch on this - I would love to hear its working OK in the end because of the hassle you've had with it.
