Does a LCD flat screen monitor need to be recycled?
I have a LCD flat screen monitor and the back light went out. Does it need to be recycled or does it go right in the regular trash?
Depending on the manufacturing process some LCD screens must be processed in hazardous waste facilities due to mercury, lead and other compounds.
If you have a BestBuy or Apple store in your area then take the LCD to them. They know exactly what needs to be done to recycle computer parts safely.
